Samaris Introduce The Colorful Words They 'Wanted 2 Say' -

Within months of forming in their teens in Reykjavik in 2011, Samaris had won both the Icelandic Músíktilraunir and Kraumur music awards. The release of their two Icelandic EPs as the eponymous Samaris in summer 2013 served as their first introduction to the wider world.

Their debut album Silkidrangar had one original aspiration, one that would provide for the team to “just wear funny costumes and...maybe...get a gig in a bar in Reykjavik.”  However, it wasn't long before Samaris took their hypnotizing show beyond the tiny bars of Reykjavik to festival stages around the world. With global audiences paying attention and enjoying the momentum of hard work, the group is set to release its second album, Black Lights, on June 10th via One Little Indian.

The tunes compiled on the new album arrive as more mature, well rounded compositions that extend the song writing ambitions of the trio. A rare balance of electronic precision and glitch work lend an organic scope for an eclectic lyrical base that explores the English language for the first time.
