Fox has bumped the release date of All About Steve, a romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock, Thomas Haden Church, and Bradley Cooper, from March 6 to sometime this fall. Speaking of Cooper, he will honored on April 2 with an award from ShoWest, the convention of theater owners held in Las Vegas every year. Cooper was selected as comedy star of the year.
The studio decided to push the film to later in the year in order to avoid flooding the multiplex with too many female-themed films and going head to head with Watchmen. A firm release date has not been given for Steve, but the studio has intimated that the rom-com won't get lost in the fall shuffle.
In other Bullock news, America's sweetheart will also star in The Blindside, a sports drama for Alcon Entertainment. The film is based on Michael Lewis' book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, a true story about football player Michael Oher, who scouts believe will be one of the first players selected in this year's NFL professional draft. Oher is a formerly homeless teenager who came from a broken home and was eventually taken in by an affluent white family who believed in his potential. Bullock is set to play Leigh Anne Touhy, the well-to-do woman who invites Oher into her upper class household.
