Scars on Broadway, the post-System of a Down project of guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan, has partnered with popular music streaming service SoundCloud for a unique free download promotion. The Free "F**king" Download promotion will allow fans to get a copy of the band's new song "F**king" by simply sharing news of the download with their friends. That means it's a viral marketing campaign.

So what do you need to do to get some free music? Visit ArmageddonComeAlive.com, and you will be asked to log into your Facebook or Twitter account via the built-in interface. Once you have logged in to either social network, you will be prompted to post a text update containing a link back to ArmageddonComeAlive.com. Once you agree to share this message with friends, the free song download will appear. This should spread more quickly than a flesh-eating virus or an STD.

Thanks to SoundCloud, the band was able to custom build this powerful "Share to Download" feature using tracks already on their SoundCloud account. In the spirit of sharing, SoundCloud will make this code available to any other users who'd like to do the same as Scars on Broadway.

This free download comes upfront of Scars on Broadway playing a special one-off show at the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles, on August 20, 2010.
