Arnold Schwarzenegger to play governor in Sylvester Stallone film
Schwarzenegger Will Be Back
Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back. The actor-turned-California governor will make a brief cameo playing—you guessed it—the governor of California in Sylvester Stallone's forthcoming The Expendables. Since becoming the Golden State's governor in 2003, "Ahnuld" has made three movie appearances in films that were directed by or featured his friends.Stallone wrote the film and will direct and star in it alongside Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, and Forest Whitaker. Stallone, Staham, and Li will play mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South African dictator. The shoot is slated to begin on March 28 in Brazil and will eventually finish in New Orleans. Schwarzenegger will shoot his scene in Los Angeles.
Stallone's Rocky IV co-star Dolph Lundgren and Eric Roberts are recent additions to the cast. The film is due in theaters in 2010.
In other Rourke/Statham movie news, Emmanuelle Chriqui of Entourage fame has joined the cast of 13, a remake of a 2005 French thriller. Recent Best Supporting Actor nominee Michael Shannon and Ben Gazzara have also joined the cast, which also includes heavyweights like Rourke, Statham, and Ray Liotta.
The nerve-wracking story centers on a man who is forced to participate in a game of Russian Roulette, where rich gamblers bet against human lives.
