Season 10 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery has turned his November 23 show at the Beacon Theater in New York City into a benefit show to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy.
McCreery will donate a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to the World Vision's efforts to support victims of Sandy, the superstorm that pounded the East Coast in late October.
"Being from North Carolina, I have seen firsthand what hurricanes can do," the singer said. "After seeing the devastation caused by Sandy, I wanted to figure out a way to help. And given that we have a show at the Beacon Theater the day after Thanksgiving, I thought, 'Why not turn that New York show into a benefit?" McCreery also said, "It's fitting that the day after Thanksgiving, we can all show how thankful we are to live in a great country where Americans help Americans in their time of need," the singer continued. "So, I hope everyone will come out and support the 'Beacon Theater Benefit for Hurricane Sandy Relief.' It will be a fun night and a grateful way for us all to kick off the holiday season."
Anyone planning to see Scotty McCreery in NYC? It's for a good cause, and he will play both songs from his debut Clear as Day, as well as Christmas with Scotty McCreery.
