Gap created a new program called #BackToBlue, which includes a series of videos featuring the offspring of iconic musicians Billy Joel and George Harrison, who discuss how they never forget the advice of their fathers and who they are artistically.
These videos offer an intimate behind-the-scenes portraits into each artist's creative process and vision, with the idea of getting back to what matters most - our truest selves.
Watch Alexa Ray Joel's video below. She discusses her classical training as well as her family's Broadway heritage, and how both influence her as a musician. She goes on to describe how growing up with creative parents meant music was more inherent than learned. Alexa chose to sing her father's "Just the Way You Are," but explains how her singing voice makes the Grammy-Award winning song all her own.
Watch Dhani Harrison's video below. He talks about his start to becoming a musician and why the blues are a central genre to his sound. In his rendition of "For You Blue," a song written by his father, George Harrison, Dhani plays on a guitar with four strings while explaining how altering instruments can bring a new, alternative sound to an original song.
