See the Music: Blaqk Audio, "Ill-Lit Ships"

Blaqk Audio, the electro project of AFI's Davey Havok and Jade Puget, released their new album Bright Black Heaven, and they promptly sat down with ARTISTdirect.com for an installment of our exclusive See the Music series. In this interview, they break down the meaning behind "Ill-Lit Ships."
"It speaks of a certain type of person who shows a great personal strength or wills that strength while simultaneously allowing himself to be fragile and sometimes taken advantage of," Havok explained, going so deep he reached marrow. "The sadness and dichotomy of being strong but being manipulated and seeking self-destruction, despite not being that vulnerable in general."
Intense, right?
Puget explained that while recording the album, he tinkered around on a grand piano, which was used on Mötley Crüe's famed "Home Sweet Home" ballad, while waiting for other people to get to the studio. He came up with a part and found a place to use it and that was a Blaqk Audio song.
