Sheryl Crow's Broadway Musical "Diner" Delayed

Sheryl Crow will have to hurry up and wait for her Broadway debut. The musical Diner, the Great White Way's adaptation of the 1982 film for which she supplied the music and lyrics, will not open until the fall due to a lack of sufficient funds and to polish it up.
The musical was set for a April 10 debut, but producers have pushed it back so they can modify the script and so they can receive more financial contributions from investors that backed the production.
A source involved with the production said, "Everyone just feels it needs more work to be better, and we want it to be the best. We wanted to do the creative work without a spring opening being a gun to our heads. And we want to raise all the money, so we can open on Broadway without worrying about making budget and having reserve funds if ticket sales are slow at first. Early fall dates work better for all involved and an announcement of Broadway theatre and dates will be forthcoming."
So if it's good, it'll be worth waiting for. If this sounds like something you'd be entertained by, then support the arts and go see it when it opens.
Are you a fan of the film, which starred Kevin Bacon and Mickey Rourke?
