Golden Globe and GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Sia wrote and performed a new song, "Angel by the Wings," for the soon-to-be-premiered documentary The Eagle Huntress. Bold and inspiring, the song tells listeners to "look to the sky," and reminds all of us that "you can do anything."
The documentary is set to premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, January 24. The press release reads: "Directed by Otto Bell and executive produced by Academy Award-nominated director/producer Morgan Spurlock, The Eagle Huntress is the spellbinding true story of Aisholpan, a 13-year-old Mongolian girl who is striving to become the first female Eagle Hunter in 2,000 years of male dominated history."
Bell said the following about working with Sia: "I'm incredibly grateful that Sia took the time to write and record this very special song...It's a wonderful vote of confidence for our documentary. I could not have imagined a more fitting, timeless piece of music for the film - it's such a beautiful girl power anthem!"
In 2015, Sia was nominated for five GRAMMYs, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year, for her track "Chandelier" off her album 1000 Forms of Fear (RCA Records). She also received a Golden Globe nomination in 2015 for her track "Opportunity" from the movie Annie.
