Sigur Ros Releases DVD, CD

Icelandic band Sigur Ros will release a DVD titled Heima, as well as a double CD titled Hvarf/Heim on November 6 through the independent label XL Recordings (the band recently parted ways with their former major label Geffen). The DVD will feature footage from a series of concerts Sigur Ros played in their homeland during the summer of 2006, while the band was supporting its fourth record Takk.

The CD set is essentially a collection of random assortments with six acoustic tracks as performed live. Singer Jon Thor Birgisson and his Icelandic cohorts replicate their sensational ambient rock expertly in concert, so this double release should be a real treat for fans.
