Simon Cowell has a heart of gold. The oft-cranky TV star has donated $42,500 to an animal shelter in Manchester, England after 60 dogs perished when an arsonist set it on fire. That is pure evil. Pure, pure evil. Unforgivable.
Who ever did that is not able to be rehabbed and should be given a VERY VERY VERY HARSH punishment times 10.
Dog lover Si Co wanted to help rebuild the location after the fire, so that the displaced residents could have a new home. Just beautiful of him! You'll never hear us speak another cross word about him. Plus, we dig him anyway, but this, this puts him over the top.
The acid-tongued reality talent show judge has also offered $17,000 to two local men, Jason Dyer and Dean Rostock, who helped to save the dogs from the blaze.
Mr. Dyer and Mr. Rostock, we commend you for your efforts. The world needs more people like you.
"For something like that to happen, is disgusting," Cowell said. We agree.
He furthered, "I can't even think about it, so many dogs died. We are going to give them some money and take the guys who rescued some of the dogs on holiday because of what they did. I only got Jason and Dean's names today. I would just say both of them, they are true heroes and lots of respect from me for doing it. It was very upsetting."
He also spoke about the perpetrator, saying, "It is unbelievable. Whatever the maximum sentence is I would double it, I really would. There is no justification for it, you can't just kill animals and get away with it."
We could not agree more. Higgins, Toby and Laney, the ARTISTdirect canine mascots, thank you for your support.
What can you do to help this situation and to help end animal cruelty? We need stiffer penalties. What can we do, people?
