Singer Leona Lewis Will Not "Sex Up" Her Live Show in Order to Remain Competitive

British songbird Leona Lewis will not be going the tart route in order to promote her music. She is apparently above such means, measures and methods. The singer has gone on record and said she will not sex up her live show in order to remain competitive with other female artists, such as Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga, the latter of which is in a whole other stratosphere unto herself and who has no real peers. The 25-year-old Lewis, who won British talent competition The X Factor in 2006, scored a hit with "Bleeding Love" from her 2007 debut, Spirit. The follow up album, Echo, wasn't as successful, so perhaps Lewis should crank up the sex factor on her tour. Aguilera is prancing around in latex catsuits and blood-red lipstick but it remains to be seen whether or not that tactic will work when the first week numbers for Xtina's Bionic roll in.
Wait, what was I talking about? Oh right, Leona Lewis. The 25-year-old recently kicked off her UK tour and said she won't be performing raunchy or salacious routines like the aforementioned pop stars. She told The Daily Star, a UK newspaper that she is excited about her tour because "I get to unleash my childhood fantasies and be a princess. I knew straight away I wanted the theme to be Labyrinth. 'The show is full of fantasy and mystery. I've never felt pressure to sex up my act. Lady Gaga and Rihanna do the sexy thing well but that's not me."
Should Lewis sexify her life show in order to remain musically solvent? Or should she be applauded for attempting to play by her own rules?
