Sir David Attenborough Narrates Adele's Video, "Hello"
Tue, 03 Nov 2015 13:32:29
"A big pop star predator returned a couple of weeks ago," said Radio 1 British DJ Greg James, who had invited beloved naturalist Sir David Attenborough to the studio recently for a special spotlight. "I thought it would be good for you to narrate the beginning of Adele's new video," he continued.
"Really?" Attenborough replied, in his warm-yet-slightly-mischievous grandfatherly tone. "Will Adele be cross at me?"
"I think Adele will probably love this more that anything in the whole world," said James.
Then on cue, Attenborough, adored around the world for his popular nature programs, including the award-winning series Planet Earth, begins to narrate the action of the singer's new video for the song "Hello" which she dropped just over a week ago as the lead single to her upcoming third studio album, 25, due November 20 via XL Recordings. Her video, which at the moment stands to to crest 210 million online views, is the second fastest video to hit 100 million YouTube views ever, according to a piece on Billboard.
Attenborough's adaptation likely won't chart at high, but we're convinced you'll find it charming, much like the singer who inspired it.
