Sister Hazel, the five-piece southern rock band from Gainesville, Florida, plans to release a digital EP, entitled Threeve on June 1. It will be available via all music download portals. The EP features three brand-new songs which is where it got its clever name! The songs are 'All The Love,' 'My Heart,' and 'Can't Fight It.' Sister Hazel also plans to release a new studio full-length in October. So this EP should satisfy fans in dire need of new music throughout the summer.

The band is also looking forward to its fifth annual fan weekend, the Hazelnut Hang at the Windjammer in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, which is being held June 4 through June 6. The Hang, which the band created as a way to interact more closely with their fans, is a weekend gathering of fans, friends, and the band members to share music, food, and fun. There will be two ticket packages available to Hang attendees, each offering fans different goodies. Tickets are on sale now. All details are available at www.rockridgemusic.com/hazelnuthang, as are lists from the band about why they love hosting the Hang and photos of past gatherings. So if Sister Hazel is your favorite band in the whole wide world, then the Hazelnut Hang is where you could go to meet other Hazelnuts and maybe even meet a prospective wife or hubby, depending on your preference, who shares a very common interest.

Sister Hazel are also set to host the Rock Boat XI, the world's largest floating music festival, from January 6 through 10, 2011, on the Carnival Inspiration. The band co-founded the Rock Boat cruise with Sixthman in 2001. And recently on tour, while in Washington, DC, for a show at the 9:30 Club on May 15, the band went to visit wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. With guitars in hand, they went room-to-room, performing, signing autographs, and taking pictures with recuperating soldiers. Sister Hazel are a solid bunch of guys and their actions of performing for the wounded are admirable and earn my respect.
