Sleep to Reissue "Dopesmoker"

Time to toke up and spark a spliffy.
The doom crew known as Sleep are gearing up to reissue Dopesmoker via Southern Lord. That's ironic, since the record took nearly about eight years to be initially released.
Dopesmoker was recorded all the way back in 1995, but it was yanked from the release schedule since the band's label considered the one-hour long song a nightmarish piece that would not be easy to market in a traditional sense. The band broke up and Tee Pee released the platter in 2003.
Fast-forward nearly 10 more years and the reissue will be remastered and will include a live rendering of "Holy Mountain," which was taped in 1994. New artwork by Arik Roper, who had designed previous Sleep imagery, is also on deck for the re-ish.
So when all is said and done, the reissue lands almost 20 years after the damn thing was recorded.
