Corey Taylor, singer for Stone Sour and Slipknot, will head to Las Vegas to play a bunch of special shows with the Junk Beer Kidnap Band. The group, which Taylor describes as the "first stoner rock disco funk band," will be performing July 16 at the Hard Rock Pool and July 17 at Hard Rock's Wasted Space. Stoner rock funk disco? Sounds like my kind of music. "The music is basically a cross between Sabbath, Prince and Zappa, and I assembled a crack squad of aloof yet courageous bastards to accompany me," the singer revealed. I like aloof and courageous.
In other Slipknot news, the Hard Rock Hotel will unveil a special case dedicated to Taylor, containing masks and uniforms he's worn during performances with his Grammy-winning multiplatinum act Slipknot. The case will be unveiled on July 15.
