Snoop Dogg Arrested Yet Again

However ready you may be to ring in the upcoming New Year, it's a safe bet that Snoop Dogg is even more eager. The rapper added another arrest to his 2006 resume -- his third in the past two months -- after being served with a search warrant following his appearance last night (November 28th) on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The police searched Snoop and the inside of his car -- as well as his home in Diamond Bar, a suburb of Los Angeles -- and hit him hard with what they discovered. Charges were filed for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, having a false compartment in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. Snoop's previous felony stems from a 1990 conviction for cocaine possession with intent to sell.
Burbank Police Sgt. Kevin Grandalaski said that Snoop was expected to post $60,000 in bail late Tuesday evening.
The newspaper nearest NBC's studios, the Burbank Leader, reported that two men in Snoop's entourage were also arrested -- one for an outstanding warrant and the other for carrying possible "burglary tools." The rapper was traveling with four vehicles in tow, and the resulting two-hour search backed up traffic on the Burbank streets.
The search warrant was served due to a continuing investigation into an earlier arrest for gun possession and marijuana transport -- charges for which Snoop is scheduled to appear in court to answer on December 12th. He was also charged earlier this month after security officials at John Wayne Airport in Orange County discovered a collapsible baton -- deemed a deadly weapon -- in his carry-on luggage.
