Atlanta's hard rockers open up Kill The Flaw with a banger.
Sevendust score Song of the Week with "Thank You." The first track unveiled from album number eleven, Kill The Flaw [7Bros Records], out October 2, sees the hard rock stalwarts—Lajon Witherspoon [vocals], Clint Lowery [guitar], John Connolly [guitar], Vinnie Vince Hornsby [bass], and Morgan Rose [drums]—pack everything they do so well into one anthem. This proudly stands alongside the group's most formidable singles "Black," "Denial," and "Praise" with the ultimate cross-section of Witherspoon's soulful howl and the polyrhythmic groove-driven metal they perfected. The past few years have been extremely prolific for the group with 2013's Black Out the Sun and last year's phenomenal Time Travelers and Bonfires. However, that hot streak reaches a boiling point on "Thank You" and Kill The Flaw.
Lowery and Connolly seamlessly build from hypnotic tones into a stirring and scorching sidewinder guitar tandem. Rose holds down a wily beat punctuated by Hornsby's bass attack. Over that backdrop, Witherspoon's voice soars to the heavens on an utterly unique and unshakable refrain. There's no doubt this will be a live favorite.
"Thank You" ignites the next phase of Sevendust and the Kill The Flaw campaign by taking no prisoners and bursting out of the gate all guns blazing. They deserve to win on this one. They've most definitely put the work in.
