She's bound to have a massive year.
Pittsburgh native Daya has got the goods to be the next big thing in pop music. The 16-year-old songstress delivers a bona fide gem with her official debut single "Hide Away"—the first from her self-titled debut EP set for a September 18 release through ARTBEATZ. What's so striking about the track is her voice is nearly orchestral in its delivery. It's robust and genuinely powerful, adding a touch of class to pop music. Moreover, the lyrics are clever, like "Royals"-level clever, as she calls out girls who give it up to easy crooning, "Girls seem to like the boys who don't appreciate all the money and the time that it takes to be fly as a mother."
Within there is a message of positivity and self-respect that's rarely seen in this genre and proves utterly and undeniably refreshing. Daya comes out of the gate with something totally different, and it separates her immensely. Watch out for her because she's bound to have a massive year.
