Sony Music has apologized for hiking the prices of two Whitney Houston albums on Apple's iTunes Store in the UK just hours after the singer's death. Tacky. BEYOND TACKY!
As soon as news that Houston had died broke on Saturday, Feb., 11, the price of her albums The Ultimate Collection and Greatest Hits were increased. Profiting from her death. Nice move, record label dudes.
Sony Music issued a statement to Billboard.biz, which reads as follows: "Whitney Houston product was mistakenly mispriced on the UK iTunes store on Sunday. When discovered, the mistake was immediately corrected. We apologise for any offence caused."
That's a pretty big mistake, guys.
Do you believe Sony's statement?
