Soundgarden Sitting on Live Album

Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil spoke about a wealthy of Soundgarden material that the band is sitting on in an interview with a Canadian radio station. He told CFNY/Toronto last week that the reunited band has a live album they've been sitting on for years and they are "just waiting for someone to mix it," as well as maybe "two or three albums" worth of B-sides to compile.
There is a wealth of Soundgarden material to sift through, it would appear, from Thayil's statements.
Thayil also told the station that Soundgarden will be "doing other shows and working on releasing some albums from deeper in our catalog." As for any new material, which is what fans of these grunge legends are really waiting for? Well, the guitarist said, "We've come up with instrumental, and certainly on occasion, lyrical ideas. I'm not confirming anything, but it's impossible for us to get in a room and not come up with ideas. It's very likely in the future, perhaps sooner than later, we'll get together and de-emphasize the rehearsing part and emphasize the jamming part."
Would you be satisfied with Soundgarden simply playing the classics and touring behind their vast and deep catalog or do you yearn for new material? The jury is out for me -- I could go either way.
