Comedy Central genius Stephen Colbert has written a new book and while on the promotional trail, he revealed a tragedy his family suffered long ago. When Colbert, now 48, was 10-years-old back in 1974, his father and two older brothers died in a plane crash. How tragic for a young boy to have to deal with that type of loss.
RadarOnline.com reports that Colbert lost three family members when Eastern Airlines Flight 212 crashed in a North Carolina cornfield. The comedian lost 50 pounds and became depressed over the losses.
His new book, America Again: Re-Becoming The Greatness We Never Weren't, is available now.
