Steven Soderbergh to Make Jack Falcone

The ever-busy Steven Soderbergh will executive produce Making Jack Falcone for Paramount. The film will present the story of Joaquin "Jack" Garcia, also known as Jack Falcone, a Cuban-American FBI agent who went undercover to expose the Gambino crime family and became a "made man" during his Mafia stint, shuttling between Miami and New York and using different aliases in the process.

Soderbergh reteams with his Che screenwriting partner Peter Buchman for Falcone.

Soderbergh will read drafts of the film's script and will offer assorted guidance on the project, which is based on a Simon & Schuster/Touchstone novel about the subject published last month. The book landed on the New York Times extended best-seller list. As for Garcia, he is currently retired for service.
