Steven Spielberg is the hardest working man in show business, as evidenced by the flurry of activity surrounding the director over the past several months. Spielberg is currently in early discussions with Will Smith to team up for a remake of the 2003 Korean film Oldboy. Sources indicate that the director has been wanting to work with Smith, a bankable box office star, for some time now. Spielberg's DreamWorks is in the process of obtaining the rights, and when that goes through, Universal will distribute the film.

The original follows a man who is kidnapped and held in a terrible conditions for 15 years without explanation. He is released and provided with money, a cell phone, and clothes and sets out to seek revenge on those who ruined his life. Smith would play the jailed man. Spielberg is currently looking for a writer for the film.
