Stone Sour, the successful-in-its-own-right project featuring vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist James Root of that nine-headed, Platinum-selling metal beast from Iowa known as Slipknot, have revealed that Audio Secrecy will be the title of their third album, due out this summer via longtime label Roadrunner. The band is working with producer Nick Raskulinecz at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, where they're putting the finishing touches on the record. The band has enjoyed three Grammy nominations throughout its career, proving that Stone Sour are no side project, but a force to be reckoned with. Their self-titled debut was released in 2002 and the band goes on hiatus when Taylor and Root return to Slipknot and then come back stronger than ever when Slipknot goes off cycle. It's a win-win for everyone involve, especially when Corey Taylor is at the wheel, er, mic stand!
"Audio Secrecy is the summation of everything we want, everything we crave and everything we fight for," said Taylor in a statement. "The dimensions go further than anything we've ever tried before. It's metal, rock, slow, soft, hard, fast, bitter, beautiful and most importantly, it's REAL. You can't get an album like this out of a band that doesn't exist. We're throwing caution out the damn window." If that doesn’t make you foam at the mouth for this new album, then nothing else can or will.
The band will be on the newly launching Uproar tour all late summer and early fall long with Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold and Hell Yeah, to name a few.
