Sugarland star Jennifer Nettles will take the stand and tell her side of the story in a lawsuit relating to the deadly Indiana State Fair stage collapse last August. A gust of wind blew in right before Sugarland were due to perform, causing the stage rigging to collapse onto fans, killing several people.
Estate executors for the deceased and three injured concert goers filed a lawsuit against Mid-America, claiming the firm was responsible for the tragedy since it built the structure, which eventually collapsed after a literal force of nature.
During a deposition in January, Indiana State Fair Commission Executive Director Cindy Hoye claimed Sugarland resisted delaying the start of the show despite warnings of severe weather, and Marion Superior Court Judge Theodore Sosin ordered Nettles to testify and provide her side of the story.
Nettles has to testify by April 15, which is two days before a meeting to discuss a settlement.
Nettles' Sugarland bandmate Kristian Bush is not being forced to testify.
What do you predict will be the outcome of this situation?
