Suge Knight Sues Kanye West Over Miami Shooting
Thu, 13 Nov 2008 10:52:02
Suge Knight, the man responsible for Death Row Records' gangsta-rap reign, has filed a lawsuit against Kanye West, blaming him for the gunshot wound he suffered at the rapper's pre-MTV Video Music Awards party in 2005. While his attacker was never found (some people claim Knight accidentally shot himself in the right leg), Knight says West was responsible for the lack of security at the Miami gathering. Among the alleged damages suffered as a result of the shooting are a shattered bone in Knight's right leg, the loss of a 15-karat diamond stud valued at $135,000, and a private jet back to California. Knight is asking for West and two other defendants—Phillips South Beach and Morgans Hotel Group Management LLC—to cover his medical expenses and mental anguish from "the loss of use and enjoyment of the earring."
West hasn't responded to Knight's charges yet. He plans on releasing the 808s & Heartbreak record on November 24, though.
