It has been 11 months since the Paris terrorist attacks that left 89 people dead at an Eagles of Death Metal concert at Le Bataclan. Pitchfork reports, "On November 15, A Peaceful Noise, an organization founded by Zoe Alexander (the sister of Nick Alexander, a music merchandiser and one of the attack's victims), will host a memorial concert at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, dedicated to those affected by the attacks. The concert will feature performances from Supergrass' Gaz Coombes, Maxïmo Park, Frank Turner, Travis' Fran Healy, and unannounced special guests."
The memorial concert website reports all proceeds from A Peaceful Noise will be split between The Nick Alexander Memorial Trust, which has been set up to actively enhance lives and break down barriers through music, and Josh Homme's Sweet Stuff Foundation, which is a charity dedicated to giving assistance to career musicians, recording engineers and their families struggling with illness and disability.
Le Bataclan is planning to reopen this November, with Pete Doherty of The Libertines playing the first concert on November 16th. Other concerts announced for this year include Youssou N'Dour and the Super Etoile de Dakar on November 18th, Nada Surf on December 2nd and MZ on December 3rd.
