Agnes Obel Videos
Agnes Obel is quite the vocal enchantress. She will issue a deluxe version of her Aventine album on October 21.
The deluxe version will include all of the original tracks, plus two new songs, live tracks from her recent European tour, and two remixes, one, "Fuel to Fire," that was remixed by "the" David Lynch who apparently is a major fan of hers. Wow. When David Lynch remixes one of your songs, you have to be awesome. And trust us. Agnes Obel is more than awesome. That's why we are Taking Aim with her.
She is also touring this autumn season. So get to know her and then go see her and pick up her deluxe album!
If you were not doing music, you would be...
Gardner, some sort of writer, photographer, nurse or a doctor, basically any job you can travel with and where you do not depend on a certain language or culture to practice it.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
I guess it's mostly film and photography, but it is mainly through friends who do this more seriously. Also, I like to read from time to time. Fiction and non-fiction. At the moment, mainly music biographies.
Pick ONE song off your new record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you.
One of the songs of the album has a strange heartbeat-like beat running through the entire track. The beat came about by accident while I was listening through some recordings on headphones. Later, I found out I had been recording myself listening to the track and I now had several tracks with me tapping to the beat on the floor, and on the table with a pencil. I left most of the tracks in the song, almost as they were recorded, because they sounded like a strange heartbeat. The heartbeat sound resonated with the story of the song and ended up being defining for the production and arrangement.
Finish this sentence: Agnes Obel is the artist that...
...doesn't know how to end this sentence. Maybe when I am older and wiser.
