Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Allegaeon's Greg Burgess
Thu, 03 Jul 2014 12:58:16
We love metal. That's why we asked guitarist Greg Burgess of Allegaeon, who just released their album Elements of the Infinite on Metal Blade, to Take Aim with us.
Note: All opinions expressed here are that of the band being Aimed at! And G. Burgess has some fun and spirited opinions. Artists are invited here and can express whatever they want. It's an open forum. He was so fun that we'd invite him back again. It's an open invite, Greg.
Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know! GO!
Allegaeon formed in 2007, did a stupid EP with a skull-like dude picking his nose on the cover. Did three records after that every two years. These records make great coasters and gifts. They could solve world hunger, and believe in the healing power of cats.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
The President of the United States. I realize I'm aiming high; however, I feel like I can't fuck things up any worse.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
I suck pretty hard at video games, that's always fun!
Pick ONE song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?
Intimate? Hmmmm I almost had a nervous breakdown tracking 'Vals for the Legions' on [second album] Formshifter. Seriously spent like three hours straight trying to knock it out. Ended up quitting for the day... I was not a happy camper. Came in the next day fresh with just me and the assistant engineer and knocked it out in two hours. That was the roughest recording I have ever done I think.
Finish this sentence: Allegaeon is the artist that...
Allegaeon is the artist that... SCIENCE BITCH!
