Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Anchoress

Anchoress just released their debut album, Set Sail, which ARTISTdirect.com streamed earlier this week, so you know we dig 'em. You should, too. The four-piece hardcore punk band hails from Vancouver, BC. Because this is an international column, we invited them in for a Take Aim session. We love Canadians.
Punk 'n' roll, fellas!

Anchoress' members collided in Vancouver, Canada in late 2010 and coalesced into a whimsical post-hardcore punk 'n' roll band.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
I can't imagine a life without music. If I were not doing music, I would be a wholly dissimilar creature.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
Ricky (bass) does graphic design; he's done all of our merch and album art, as well as work for numerous other bands. Chris (drums) does film; he's directed our music videos.
Pick one song and break it down for us.
"Murder In the Sky Over Burnaby" is actually about -- as much as a song comprised of a single line can be 'about' anything -- the remarkable crow population that resides in Burnaby; a single murder can be flying overhead for what seems like eternity. Apparently, the estimated numbers peaked in 2009 at around 30,000 crows in the area, but has since decreased slightly to 23000, likely due to increased development.
Best thing about Canada?
Canada is one of the most beautiful and diverse places in the world. Once Harper and the Conservatives are out of office, I'll have many more nice things to say about Canada.
And we have nice things to say about Anchoress. Will you Set Sail with 'em? Don't forget to check out the stream we have up for Set Sail!
