Ephel Duath just dropped their new album Hemmed By Light, Shaped By Darkness.
That's why we invited Davide Tiso into the Take Aim ring for a chat.

Ephel Duath is 15 years of experimental extreme metal music without any boundaries of sort, featuring a revolving door of eclectic and diverse musicians directed by the agitated mindset of one.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
...an architect or an interior decorator. I'm good at visualizing things on a blank surface and turning those ideas into something.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
I love to take and edit pictures. I recently started working on videos too. Working on Final Cut Pro gives me the same chills I get from Pro Tools. Altering and shaping a moment in time is absolutely thrilling for me, especially when the material I'm working on seems to be of poor, or not up to standards, quality. Sometime you need to dig to find beauty.
Pick ONE song off HBLSBD and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?
I was in the middle of the composition of 'Tracing the Path of Blood,' the second track of the album. I was at my Pro Tools station, harmonizing the riff that represents the emotional peak of the song, probably of the whole album itself. I pushed record and I started improvising a part. I quickly got into something worth keeping and I vividly felt a presence there, between my headphones, right inside my head. The riff was on a loop and I kept playing. Chills started to spread behind my neck and all along my back and a blurry image of [the late] Chuck Schuldiner appeared to me. He was smiling at me. That same part I recorded made it on the final version of the song. Here you go, I never told this to anyone before.
Finish this sentence: Ephel Duath is the band that...
... took control of my life and dreams and tosses them around as it pleases.
