Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Highly Suspect - Highly Suspect hail from Brooklyn

Today's Take Aim opponent is Brooklyn band Highly Suspect. We crush on them, and hard, because of their answers to this Q&A.  Johnny from the band was our point person here. Have at it!

Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know! GO!

    No F***s. 3X.

If you were not doing music, you would be…

Panhandling on a beach in Mexico.

Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?

Flight. Telekinesis. Superhuman strength. Ultra fast regenerative abilities. X-Ray vision. Invisibility. Morphing capabilities. Mind control.

Pick ONE song one your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?

When we recorded 'Mister Asylum,' our label hadn't really fully heard the song yet, at least not the current arrangement. Lyor (Cohen, 300 Entertainment's boss - Ed.) and some of the other cats on our team came in to check on us in the studio one day and we happened to be ready to roll out vocals for the song. I felt like I had one chance really to convince them the song would be dope, unlike most of the time when they weren't there and we could take our time to go over things and get them right. It was probably all in my head because our team is so f***ing cool and supportive of our art.

But I wanted to impress them anyway. So I took a giant glug from the whiskey bottle and let it all out in front of like 20 people on the other side of the glass. Usually I prefer to record vocals with just the engineer. It worked out. For the most part, those are the same vocals you hear in the final recording.

Finish this sentence: Highly Suspect is the artist that…

...you've been waiting for, whether you knew it or not.

Have a listen to "Lost" below! We would never, ever steer you wrong. Highly Suspect are one of our fave new bands.

Now you can "hear" why Highly Suspect are one of our new fave bands.

Highly Suspect's album 'Mister Asylum' is due out in July.
