We love nihilistic black metal, hence why we invited Imperial Triumphant's Zach into the Take Aim ring today. The NYC band makes music that is orchestral, dark, evil and awesome. So get to know 'em here. Find out how rabies may or may not have impacted their black-as-night, soul-swallowing music.

We are a collective of New York City iconoclasts orchestrating modern black metal. A legion of the exalted elite forging the anti-gospel of our culture.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
...Dead. No point to life.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
I'm literally terrible at everything but music. And I'm just okay at music.
Pick ONE song one your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?
As the snow descended upon the halls of Menegroth during the last dark days of winter, we are recording 'Goliath.' Right before this, however, I'm picking up our drummer at his apartment. Thirty minutes go by and I'm still waiting in the car. I finally call him and say, 'We're going to be late, where the fuck are you?' To my not-so-surprised surprise, he responds, 'Sorry I'm making a couple phone calls. I was getting off the elevator and... I got bit by a dog. I have to call my doctor to make sure I don't have rabies now.' I laughed but he was not thrilled. The funny thing is... he DID get rabies and that's why the drumming on 'Gomorrah' is so insane and brutal.
Finish this sentence: Imperial Triumphant is the band that...
Imperial Triumphant is the band that challenges you. Our music is not for everyone. It's for the intelligent and curious. So drink from the darkness. The chalice that is Goliath awaits.
