Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Jeremy of Jeremy and The Harlequins - Get to know 'em!

We love throwback rock, like that which Jeremy and The Harlequins dole out. We invited Jeremy into our Take Aim ring...the first of 2014. We're starting the year off with a rock 'n' roll bang.

The band features world-class chefs and dog walkers in its ranks. They also love boots, shades and leather jackets. Husband material!

Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know! GO!

Your parents' parent's prom, before The Beatles, when cigarettes were good for you, when sex was bad for you, kind of American rock 'n' roll.

If you were not doing music, you would be…

Stevie, our drummer, is actually a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef who cooks for the attaches, diplomats, ambassadors and generals at the U.S. embassy.  Craig, our guitarist, is a rock star/bartender/interior designer. Our bassist does real estate and our other guitarist, Patrick, walks dogs. I write songs for other musicians and design posters and graphics for a concert promoter.  So... I guess the question is more like:  When we're not doing music, we are...

Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?

Generally speaking, we love to explore and travel. We're big into food and wine.  tevie has a blog, thefoodcoma.com, where you can learn to cook, travel, and eat like a classically trained French chef. Outside of the venue on the road, you're most likely to find us at antique malls in small towns, art museums in big cities, or a go-kart/mini-golf spot in the suburbs. Patrick is one of the funniest story-tellers you'll ever meet.  I read a lot of esoteric and metaphysical books.  We're all obsessed with boots, sunglasses, and leather jackets.

Pick ONE song one your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?

I ended it with a girl I was dating.  She was really nice, but the whole thing was missing that spark.  I felt bad about it, but I knew it wasn't going anywhere.  At the same time as this was going on, I was listening to a lot of Roy Orbison, Scott Walker and The Righteous Brothers. I was really into all these '50s and '60s heartfelt, romantic, crooning love ballads. I wanted to write a big crooning ballad, but instead of writing about falling deeply in love, I decided to make it about falling out of love. The end result was our song 'Right Out of Love.' The chorus is... Somewhere, somehow, someone's about to fall right out of love.  It's kind of the antithesis to the classic love ballad while musically sounding like a classic love ballad.

Finish this sentence: Jeremy and The Harlequins is the band that…

You, your dad, your mom, your grandfather, grandmother, great grandmother, great grandfather, uncle, aunt, cousin, third cousin, son, daughter, and father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate can all love and stand behind.

    Amen to that!

Viva la Jeremy and The Harlequins.

Check out their song "Trip Into the Light."
