Time to set sail on a Leisure Cruise.
Today's Take Aim'ers are Leisure Cruise. Get to know them. We love them. You will, too. Pinky swear.
Their self-titled debut album is out now. [iTunes link] Yes, we LOVE it. You will too, after you get to know LC.
Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know! GO!
The future as imagined in the past- yet rooted in the now. Like a John Hughes film in spring of 2028. When the '80s come back for a 3rd time.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
Dave: I sail (quite) a bit. And dive. I was just lucky enough to hang with a whale shark in Thailand last week, on a solo dive. I'm actually a boat captain (although the band name had nothing to do with that, ironically).
Leah: I like salt.
ONE song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?
Dave: We haven't told anyone that a giant thunderclap happened while recording 'Ragged Dawn,' in the first verse. It was so loud, it bled through the mic, and we left it in there. It was kind of an amazing moment and that vocal take was really great, so I wanted to keep it, and we haven't told anyone about that thunderstorm, until now. If you listen closely, you'll hear it.
Leah: Dave is an Instagram freak and as it happens, takes really great photos. I spied Dave flipping through his recent Instagram posts and saw that one of his shots was gaining some rapid encouragement, and in the double digits. I said, 'Nice. Gettin some double digit love on that one.' We immediately started writing a song called 'Double Digit Love,' about the shameful popularity contest of social media, the grotesque things we're expected to do in order to be seen or become or remain relevant, and the conundrum of the necessity of being 'liked' or even, god bless us, 'loved.'
Finish this sentence: Leisure Cruise is the artist that...
...drives the hovercraft of love.
