Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Lena Fayre - She is an up and comer!

Today, Lena Fayre, a young and talented artist we have had our eyes on for a long time, is Taking Aim!

For someone so young, she demonstrates a depth of wisdom. We love her for it.

Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know! GO!

My purpose as an artist is to express what I know and don't know about myself in a creative form. Music begins as a selfish craft, but comes around to being for both the projector and receiver. I'm interested in what people get from my music, without me trying to directly influence them.

If you were not doing music, you would be...

    Attempting to do music.

Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?

Collecting, scavenging, drying flowers, taking pictures.

Pick ONE song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?

Ah, well, since your question calls for intimacy, I will expand on 'Intimacy Is Me.' I wrote and recorded the majority of my album, OKO [iTunes video], in Virginia. During my time there, I collaborated with artist Nu Depth aka Dylan Mulshine. We got together on a fine, cold night and wrote that song outdoors in a hammock. The shiver featured on the song is genuine --it was very cold out-- and the spoken word portions are actual iPhone recordings. We recorded ourselves free-versing, coming up with different phrases and lyrics. Dylan is a mad genius and skilled producer. However, neither of us knew our way around ProTools... So, when it came to actually recording the rest of the vocals, we had no idea how to work the system. It was my last night in Virginia, and we stayed up trying to get the song done. That song is incredibly special to me.

Finish this sentence: Lena Fayre is the artist that...

She is so special and smart! We lurve her.
