Life can suck or it can rule. This Life, a Hermosa Beach, California-based band, RULES!
Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know! GO!
As founders of Southern California favorite Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Moi, Matt, and Sean spent nearly a decade engaging a diehard fan base with three full-length albums as well as successful stints on Warped Tour and support runs alongside the likes of Slightly Stoopid. However, their muse suddenly morphed right before their eyes. It wasn't planned out.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
If we weren't playing music we would all most likely be very unsettled. To answer the question properly, we would be doing something that allows us to be artistic along with other things that would help pay the bills. Guitar/vocalist Matthew McEwan has experience in welding and machinery and is an exceptional painter. Guitar/vocalist Sean Chapman has worked in film and sound design as well as framing and modeling. Lead Vocalist Moi J. Quinn has a background in dancing and breakdancing for live acts as well as in the commercial media. He has also taught dance, waited tables and worked the graveyard shift at Home Depot.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?

Pick ONE song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?
'Kill the Messenger' was actually written when the Sandy Hook shooting occurred and was the inspiration behind the lyrics. That was a traumatic shocker to us and really affected the band, along with co-writer Josiah Rosen. After demoing this song, our producer and the band felt that in a dream world, Omar Hakim would be the perfect drummer! It just so happened that Sean's father, who was a working drummer in the '70s and '80s, happened to be good friends with Omar's wife Rachel Z.
"Hmmm... Can we reach out?"
LIFE says: "One week later we were in the studio with Omar Hakim and his wife Rachel Z tracking 'Kill The Messenger' and two other tracks!
As our faces lit up with ear-to-ear grins, we watched the magic of Omar and his wife Rachel track the song live together with a one take performance. It was electric and ensured us that we had a lot to learn hahaha!!
Finish this sentence: Life is the artist that...
...wants to be honest, and play music for the rest of our lives.
