Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Mötley Crüe's Mick Mars

Mötley Crüe will spend the next two years on their Final Tour. They even signed a legally binding contract to prove that they mean business. They are going out on top. Do not expect any half-assed, three-fourths reunion tours in two or three years. We grabbed some time with guitarist Mick Mars to find out the skinny.
The contract you signed at a press conference -- is it truly binding or can you rip it up and piss on it, and tour again?
It's very legal and very binding. We had different lawyers help draw it up in our words and it's legal. If we try and do something, we could be sued. If I went and did Mötley Crüe without the other guys, they could sue me.
What are you going to do after? Or will you wait and figure it out then?
I've got quite a few things in the fire, you know? I write commercials. I could do things for movies. They always look for musical excerpts for car chases and scary monster pieces. I will be writing with [former Crüe singer] John Corabi for his album. With Twiggy, as well, from Marilyn Manson. I have a lot of things I want to do and people who want to write with me!
That's awesome. Will you be dragging out songs you've not played for a while for this tour?
I am unsure of that. What I am sure about is all the hits that you go to a concert for, like if AC/DC doesn't play 'Balls to the Wall,' you get disappointed. We will play the hits and songs that we have not played in a while.
Why is now the right time for Mötley Crüe to bounce?
I believe because it's about the right time to call it a day. We are at pinnacle in our career and we are still on top. We don't want to fall low, and play to small clubs, to two or three people. That's not very good. We decided to go out on top and be remembered as that.
We doubt it'd be that small of an audience, but it's smart to go out on a high note. Who's idea was it?
All of us. We sat down and talked about doing it, not as a farewell tour, but that this is the final tour. You won't see Mötley Crüe again.
You don't think there will be the itch to do it again?
It will never happen. It's a binding contract. Like how you will never see The Beatles again. It's final.
What about this situation? What if you get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
Well, if that happens...great.
We got it...no more tours.
...As a band, and touring, that will never, ever happen again. We made a promise to ourselves. We signed documents.
Favorite Mötley Crüe live memory or live place to play?
Whenever I play, I have the best time no matter where I am. I can be playing in a field and on a generator and have the time of my life.
Famous last words, at least for this chat?
I know this is going to be the most over the top thing we've done and you know how we are.
