20-something russofile, music/literature-lover. Infatuated with nighttime, winter, earl grey, and singers with the last name Green.
If you were not doing music, you would be...
... in graduate school for Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies or Eurasian Energy and Politics.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
I can speak Russian and some Bulgarian. Oh, and I'm a scratch golfer.
Pick ONE song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?
I wrote 'Cranes,' the intro to Blue Notebook No. 10 on the evening of the death of my roommate Daniel, who had slipped into a coma from an unknown illness, finding out he died just three hours after my long-term girlfriend and I had split. 'Cranes' was the first song that I had ever finished to completion without a writing partner, and the title is in memoriam to Daniel, whose friends sent thousands of paper cranes to fill his hospital room.
Finish this sentence: Samuel Proffitt is the artist that...
... wants you to see the world through his eyes.
Do you crush hard on Samuel Proffitt like we do?
