Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Segarra
Fri, 19 Oct 2012 15:55:51
For today's Take Aim, Amy Sciarretto goes up against Segarra. Even her name sounds intimidating, right? No way, not even! She is a very nice, talented and ambitious gal and we're glad we spent time with her. She was once a ballerina and is a big kid at heart. She also shared a "hairy" story about working with Sean Paul.
Overall, we realized that we want to go snowboarding with her. Whatta ya say, Segarra? Is it a date?
If you were not doing music, you would be...
I honestly cannot see myself outside of anything involving music. Before I became serious about singing, I trained in ballet since I was five-years-old. I wanted nothing more than to be a ballet dancer for the New York City Ballet Company.
Any non-music skills/hobbies/talents?
I'm a big kid and I love video games, amusement parks, jet skiing. Snowboarding is my newest addition.
Pick one song on your self-titled EP and share an intimate writing or recording story, something we'd only know since you told us.
"I'm Ready" is my favorite song on the EP. This song is a doorway into showing you, the fans, what's in store for you. I love it because it's nothing you would hear in the club. Instead, it's a song you want to listen to over and over again singing at the top of your lungs. When recording this song, I got teary-eyed because true love is something I'm still waiting for.
Any fun stories about working with Sean Paul or Busta Rhymes?
Sean Paul is surprisingly funny and down to earth. He also loves his hair and was very adamant about me not touching it. Being around Busta is always a pleasure. He's a very passionate person and a big teddy bear- with me anyways.

My music is a threshold into empower women to be successful and aim high. I come from a family full of the tenacious, the strong willed, and confident. For example my mother, she is a dark skinned Puerto Rican Woman who was a detective in the New York City police department for 20 years. Enough said!
We love Segarra and her mother so much! Check out the EP on her SoundCloud page!
