FolkRockMusik. Bluegrass Roots/Rock Mojo. Melody/Harmony/Energy. Classical tidbits/Engineering degrees. We all about that bass, but treble is cool too.
If you were not doing music, you would be…
If I were not doing music I would be: Dead. I've got this speed style situation going on where if I stop doing music, my bus explodes.
Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?
Recently I've gotten into roasting my own coffee beans. I can't tell if its tastes better yet, but it's definitely a lot more work.
Pick ONE song one your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?
'Aubade' is one of my favorite songs. It came about because I was dating a girl who was a singer and we wanted to sing together but it felt like we were always leaving each other; me to go on the road, her to go back to school or whatever. So I wrote a song that we could sing as a temporary 'goodbye.' An 'aubade' is a morning love song, as opposed to a serenade, which is meant for the evening. Of course I ended up singing it with Colin and Steve on the record, which is not nearly as romantic.
Finish this sentence: Seven Handle Circus is the artist that…
Seven Handle Circus is the artist that…Ain't nothing to fu.....oops, that's Wu Tang. Seven Handle Circus is the artist that is taking all the beauty that they have found in music, packaging in the form of acoustic folk music, and sharing it with the world.
How rad, right?
Listen to their song "And We Danced," from Shadows on the Wall.
