Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Skinny Lister's Lorna Thomas - Dance, drink and be merry

In today's edition of Take Aim, Skinny Lister's Lorna Thomas decided to enter the ring for a chat with Amy Sciarretto. Brave, brave soul, right? Well, we were schooled on her ability to both dance and drink us under the table. We also talked antiques - yes, ANTIQUES- and more. Get into it. We are totally crushing on Skinny Lister's blend of folk, and on Thomas herself.

If you were not doing music, you would be…

It's really hard to imagine doing anything else to be honest. Possibly wing walking or channel swimming: two adventures I got to try out when recording the videos for the tracks "Colours" and "If the Gaff Don't Let Us Down." The fellas were definitely rubbish in the water but I could have stayed in there all day! And wing walking was so much fun....though I wish I could have done a loop the loop. Maybe next time...

    Any non-music skills or hobbies?

Drinking and dancing has always been my pastime. I remember the first party I ever went to, my parents said I shouted, "Everyone form a ring around me whilst I dance!" A little embarrassing but showing off just seems to be within me. My brother, Max, has always been into antiques and so we created the Skinny Shop so that he can realize this hobby in a practical way. This is why you'll find you can buy old English antiques at the gigs such as horse brasses, old headlamps, anchors and even an old blow torch!

Pick one song on Forge + Flagon and share a writing or recording story -- something we'd only know since you told us.

We recorded the album in a very cold old house in Snowdonia in Wales. It was freezing cold and there was no central heating. To record "John Kanaka," we really needed to get ourselves warmed up and in the spirit of things to make it sound really big, so David Wrench, our engineer, brought out a bottle of whiskey. It definitely helped, up to a point, until we all found ourselves WAY too drunk and Sam "Mule" Brace turned into the animal he can be! It was very funny but there was definitely a limit to the amount of alcohol consumed and how good it could sound.

Twitter-size your bio - 140 words or characters (your choice) of everything we need to know.

Skinny Lister are a globetrotting party force not to be reckoned with! Be prepared to dance, sing and get involved. Haul Away!

Who or what is Skinny Lister?

A Skinny Lister is a mammal living in the North of England, clueless of the celebratory movement that has been created in his following.
