Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Titus Makin Jr. - Get to know him!

Today, we Take Aim with singer, actor and former competitive gymnast Titus Makin Jr. Settle in and get to know him.

Twitter-size your bio -- your choice of 140 words or characters, if you want to get technical-- and tell us everything we need to know! GO!

I am Titus Makin Jr. A lover of God, friendship & love. I am an actor/singer starting from a very young age to now. Been able to act on great networks such as Fox, CW, NBC & more! Love sharing pieces of my life with amazing supporters!

If you were not doing music, you would be...

If I wasn't doing music, I would love to still be in the entertainment field as a casting director, interestingly enough. I love being able to help someone achieve their goals! I also thoroughly enjoy watching talented entertainers perform.

Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?

I really enjoy long boarding! I love that living in California, we have so much space down by the beach to just hop in your board and ride for miles. I was also a competitive gymnast for eight years growing up, which was some of my fondest childhood memories.

Pick ONE song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?

There is a song on the EP titled 'Footsteps' which was inspired by a friend of mine that opened up and admitted that her and her family were still racist towards African-Americans. As we were sitting at lunch, she began to cry and tell me how wrong her dad was for making her and her siblings think that African-Americans should be treated differently. After meeting me and another African-American friend of mine, she said that we had definitely broke the stereotype she had placed on our race. I was beyond honored and encouraged as an African-American man that I had represented my race well enough to break stereotypes. I had to document this occasion and celebrate the beautiful choice she made to no longer follow in the footsteps of someone leading her with a skewed outlook. But to stand up for what she knows love and acceptance really means.

Finish this sentence: Titus Makin is the artist that...

Titus is the artist that wants to tell stories that encourage and inspire people through music. Who also wants to be able to connect with people in music to let them know they are not alone in whatever they're going through.
