If you were not doing music, you would be...
Doing something else where we are able to create something. I think at one point or another we've all had jobs where despite the good money, we didn't feel like we were contributing anything from our point of view, we were just expected to show up and follow the guidelines set before us. I don't think you need to avoid those types of jobs but they need to be balanced with your take on the world.

Any non-music hobbies, talents or skills?

Some of us bake, some garden or build things. Everyone has their own passions outside of music and we try to make time for them on a consistent basis.

Pick ONE song on your record and share a writing or recording story. Something intimate, that you haven't told anyone else (or at least a bunch of writers or journalists) and that which puts us in the moment with you. Let's get intimate, shall we?

'Slow Magic' probably took us the longest to settle on an arrangement. We went through so many iterations and tried to pack a lot into the song. For one idea we slowed the song way down and sampled the opening drums of Phil Collins 'Take Me Home' for the groove of the song. Maybe we will do a remix of the song over that groove....really took it to a different place.

Finish this sentence: U.S. Royalty is the artist that...

...wants you to take their new album Blue Sunshine [iTunes link] on a long drive and to go where it takes you.

Listen to "Lady in Waiting" below. It reminds us a bit of U2, with a garage-y vibe.

    Did you dig U.S. Royalty?
