Dead Sara's formidable frontwoman Emily Armstrong took on Amy Sciarretto in the latest Take Aim. It was all love, all girl power and all fun! No battles here. Just a sharing of information! The band's self-titled album is out now and if you've not yet made its acquaintance, then shame on you. We've been rocking this band at ARTISTdirect.com forever, so we are glad the rest of the world is finally catching on to what we were already aware of.

If you were not in Dead Sara, you would be:

In a band or putting one together. That's something I've been doing since I started playing music at age 11. Dead Sara has been the band that I envisioned being in at an early age though.

Do you have any non-music skills or hobbies?

I love taking pictures. I'm far from calling myself a photographer but I'm learning. It's been a busy year and only getting busier but I'm doing the one thing that makes me most happy.

Can you share a writing or recording story about "Weatherman?" Put us inside the creation or recording or genesis of the song. Since we <3 it so much, we want to feel like we were there.

It was actually the first song we started writing in the rehearsal room as the four of us together. We kind of stumbled upon it as Sioux was messing around on her guitar when Sean and I told her to go back a sec and "play what you just played!" Then Chris walked into his first rehearsal with us that night and we got a rough of the song done. I started singing "Weatherman" at the beginning and wrote the rest from that lyric.

We never ask about band names, but we are compelled to ask about yours. Can you elab a little?

It's just a misheard lyric from the Fleetwood Mac song "Sara." Sioux and I always liked it so when we were looking for a band name she texted me "Dead Sara" and I had that floating around my head and it was set.

What can we expect from Dead Sara from April 2012 and beyond?

More tunes and lots of touring! Staying busy is a blessing so we'd like to keep that going.

Did you check out Dead Sara yet? You should!
