Taylor Swift has donated 2,000 books to a hospital's early literacy program. Swift, a native of Wyomissing, Berks County in Pennsylvania, partnered up with Scholastic Inc. to donate 2,000 books to the Reading Hospital's Child Health Center's early literacy program. That's actually the hospital in which Swift was born, so it's close to her heart. Even though she has since moved to Nashville, she still has mad love for eastern P to the A!
Swift tendered her donation with the national Reach Out and Read initiative, which promotes early childhood literacy by bringing new books and information about the importance of reading aloud into the pediatric exam room.
She has donated books and funds before, but in 2012, she donated 14,000 books to Nashville Public Library, located in Tennessee. A portion of those books were placed in circulation, while others were gifted to children from low-income families, preschools and daycare centers.
