"Ke$ha was denied an injunction that would release her from Dr. Luke's Sony-affiliated Kemosabe Records contract last Friday. The pop star filed a lawsuit last year against her longtime producer and collaborator Dr. Luke for sexual assault and emotional abuse. A New York State Supreme Court judge ruled that Kesha would remain legally bound to her contract with Sony since the label provided her with opportunities to record without Dr. Luke," reported Stereogum.
After the court's ruling, a stream of music lovers took to social media to share their distaste for the ruling and their support for Kesha. Social media users expressed concern that the biggest female stars in the music industry were not supporting Kesha. However, many female stars did take to the web to show that they do stand with the "tik-tok" singer.
Lorde, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Lady Gaga all tweeted their best wishes to Kesha. A Taylor Swift spokesperson told E! News, "In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time." It is a true vote and showing of solidarity from the GRAMMY-winner who just last week won Album of the Year for 1989 and delivered a heartfelt speech about women in the recording industry.Margaret Cho and Fiona Apple also showed their support for Kesha via Instagram.
