Taylor Swift was named NYC's new tourism ambassador, among some criticism from longtime natives like Dee Snider, but she is undeterred. The singer is taking the role as seriously as a heart attack. She will donate all of the proceeds from her 1989 song "Welcome to New York" to Big Apple public schools.
Speaking about Manhattan, Swift said, "I love it here. I love it so much and I actually ended up writing a song called' Welcome to New York' about what it felt like to move here and about how it just felt very, very much like endless possibilities and it feels like being unique is celebrated here."
She furthered, "The song… it's selling really, really well, which is good because I'm donating all of my proceeds to New York City public schools."
Nice work, T. Swizzle.
Is Taylor Swift really this perfect?
