Taylor Swift was unable to attend Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards because she was busy reporting for jury duty in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nashville NBC affiliate WSMV reported, "Swift was considered for a case involving charges of aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and domestic assault.
"Swift was in a group of four women who were questioned by attorneys. During questioning, Swift said she believed possible rapes should be prosecuted and that she would be fair and impartial as a juror.
Swift also mentioned that she is involved in a civil sexual assault case that has not gone to trial."
Since then, T-Swift has been dismissed as a potential juror. NME reports, "It has been confirmed that the judge stated that Swift could not be impartial on the case given her on-going legal battle with a radio DJ who she has accused of groping her backstage at a concert in 2013."
Taylor, being someone who has always been grateful for her fans, also took the time to film a short video with another potential juror. Watch below.
Taytay also provided another piece of good samaritanship just a few weeks back, when she donated $1 million to Louisiana flood relief. Her effort was followed by a Britney Spears led Red Cross raffle, that gave one lucky Spears fan the opportunity to meet the pop icon if they donated $10 to Red Cross to help support Louisiana flood relief efforts.
